Guide: How to download all your data from Instagram and Facebook

Have you always wanted to know what Meta knows about you? Have you always wanted to download all your photos and videos from Instagram or Facebook as a backup?

Thanks to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), it is now possible to download all your stories, posts, photos, videos, and chat messages with just a few clicks. In this tutorial, we will show you how to easily download your data using both the desktop version and the Facebook app.

Desktop Version:

1. Visit the Facebook Accounts Center at https://accountscenter.facebook.com/.
2. Click on "Your information and permissions".
3. In the left tab, select "Download your information".
4. Click on "Request download".

Facebook App Version:

1. Open the Facebook app.
2. Click on "Settings & privacy".
3. Scroll down to "Your information" and click on "Download your information".
4. Select "Request download".

After approximately 48 hours, you will receive the download link via email. You can also access it via the Accounts Center.

The data package from Meta includes:

• All your photos ever posted on Facebook or Instagram.
• All your videos ever posted on Facebook or Instagram.
• All post texts.
• All chat messages ever exchanged with a person on Facebook or Instagram.
• All events you created, attended, or commented on.
• Every single activity you have ever performed on Facebook or Instagram.
